China and Pakistan call for immediate ceasefire in Iran war — peace talks, Hormuz restoration
China and Pakistan jointly called for an immediate ceasefire in the Iran war following high-level bilateral talks in Beijing. Their initiative proposed: an immediate ceasefire; a start to peace talks; an end to attacks on nonmilitary targets; and restoration of normal shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The proposal was described as light on details. It represents the first major ceasefire initiative from a P5 member and a key US ally simultaneously.
