IDF strikes Mahallat — 11 civilians killed; IRGC Quds Force Lebanon Corps engineering chief Mahdi Vafaei eliminated
·Mahallat, Markazi Province, Iran
Strikes on Mahallat in Markazi province killed at least 11 people — including three children — and wounded 15. Tasnim news agency cited a deputy security officer: four residential units were 'completely destroyed.' No military infrastructure at the civilian city. Guardian corroborated at 18:56 CEST.
IDF strikes on Mahallat, Markazi Province (central Iran) on Day 32 (March 31) killed 11 civilians and wounded 15, Iran's state media reported. The IDF subsequently confirmed the same strike killed Mahdi Vafaei, chief of engineering in the IRGC Quds Force's Lebanon Corps. 'Throughout his 20 years as the head of the engineering branch of the corps, Vafaei advanced underground projects across Lebanon and Syria,' the IDF said. He led efforts to establish subterranean infrastructure for Hezbollah and the Assad regime, 'and managed dozens of underground projects in Lebanon utilized for the storage of advanced weapons.' The Mahallat strike is thus a dual-consequence event: mass civilian casualties and a high-value targeted kill of a senior IRGC Quds Force officer responsible for Hezbollah's tunnel and weapons storage network.
