Iranian foreign minister: Israel's war against Hezbollah in Lebanon must end as part of ceasefire
·Tehran
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that any sustainable ceasefire agreement must include an end to Israel's war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, not just the US-Iran framework.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on April 8 that Israel's military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon must be included in any comprehensive ceasefire framework. His statement came as the US-Iran ceasefire was announced but Israel indicated the Lebanon theater was excluded from the agreement. Araghchi said Tehran viewed the exclusion of Lebanon as a fundamental flaw that would undermine the entire ceasefire architecture.

Actor responses
Foreign Minister Araghchi said Lebanon must be included in any ceasefire framework, calling the separate US-Iran track insufficient without ending the Hezbollah operations.
Israel rejected the Iranian position, with the IDF stating that operations against Hezbollah were separate from the US-Iran framework and would continue as necessary.
