Tehran residents reported heavy fire across the Iranian capital in the early hours of Saturday April 4, the New York Times reported. The overnight strikes followed the late April 3 IDF announcement of a 'wide-scale wave of strikes targeting infrastructure of the Iranian regime in Tehran,' which was itself the second major Tehran strike wave of day 35 alongside the ongoing targeting of steel plants, Bushehr province, and Isfahan.
The overnight strikes come as the US and Israel continue to expand the target set inside Iran beyond military infrastructure to economic and industrial targets. Trump had previously threatened power plants and energy facilities as next targets. CENTCOM formally designated the military campaign against Iran as 'Operation Epic Fury.'
