IDF warns it will bomb Masnaa Lebanon-Syria border crossing — Hezbollah using it for weapons smuggling
·Masnaa Border Crossing, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon
IDF spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee warned that Israel intends to strike the Masnaa Border Crossing between Syria and Lebanon 'in the near future' due to Hezbollah's use of it for military activity and weapons smuggling. Civilians ordered to evacuate the area.
IDF spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee issued a formal pre-strike warning on April 4 for the Masnaa Border Crossing between Syria and Lebanon: 'Due to Hezbollah's use of the Masnaa Crossing for military activity and the smuggling of weapons, the IDF intends to strike the border crossing in the near future.' Adraee called on anyone near the crossing to evacuate: 'Remaining in this area puts you at risk.' Masnaa is the main overland crossing between Lebanon and Syria in the Bekaa Valley — the primary route for goods and people between the two countries and historically used by Hezbollah to transfer weapons from Syria into Lebanon. Striking Masnaa would sever this key supply artery.
