One US F-15E crew member rescued from Iran; second missing — SAR continues in Khuzestan

·Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, Iran

One F-15E crew member was rescued and is receiving medical treatment. The second — believed to be the navigator — remains missing. US SAR teams are searching; the IRGC has closed off an area in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province where they believe the aviator went down. A UH-60 Black Hawk was hit by Iranian ground fire during rescue efforts but escaped safely.

One of the two crew members aboard the downed US F-15E Strike Eagle was rescued and confirmed alive, receiving medical treatment, two sources told CNN. A US official confirmed to NBC News. The second crew member's fate remained unknown as the SAR mission continued. Video geolocated by CNN and NBC showed a C-130 tanker refueling two HH-60G Pave Hawk combat SAR helicopters over Khuzestan — clear evidence of an active CSAR mission. Special operations personnel recovery teams were deployed. Iran's Tasnim News Agency claimed forces had forced a US rescue helicopter to retreat under fire; Tasnim later said the search was 'so far unsuccessful.' Iranian media called on residents to turn in any US servicemen for a reward. Trump was briefed. This is the first confirmed loss of a US fixed-wing aircraft to enemy fire since the conflict began February 28.
