Khaldeh sits on the Beirut-Sidon coastal highway — a major logistics route used by Hezbollah to move personnel and materiel between Beirut and southern Lebanon. Khaldeh has been targeted before in previous conflicts and in the current war as part of IDF strikes on Hezbollah supply lines approaching Beirut. The strike occurred on the opening hours of Day 33 (April 1). It brings total confirmed Lebanese deaths to 1,249+ since March 2.
