IDF D32 morning wave — Tehran (Vard Avar warning), power cuts; black smoke over Beirut from Hezbollah strikes

·Tehran, Iran; Beirut, Lebanon

Israel launched D32 morning strikes on military infrastructure in Tehran and Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut. Iranian media reported blasts in Tehran with power cuts affecting some areas of the capital. Black smoke rose over Beirut following IDF strikes on what Israel called Hezbollah-linked infrastructure.

The IDF launched a D32 morning strike wave targeting military infrastructure in Tehran and Hezbollah-linked sites in Beirut. Before striking, the IDF posted a warning on X in the Farsi language directing residents of Tehran's Vard Avar area to evacuate 'in the coming minutes.' The warning was posted to social media despite Iran's ongoing internet blackout, making it unlikely to have been seen by Tehran residents. Iranian media subsequently confirmed blasts in Tehran with power cuts affecting parts of the capital. Black smoke rose over Beirut following Israeli strikes on what Israel described as infrastructure used by Iran-backed Hezbollah. The morning wave follows the overnight D32 campaign that hit Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, Shiraz, Qom, Abadan and Bushehr. The pre-strike warning to a named Tehran district (Vard Avar) follows IDF practice of posting Farsi-language warnings on X before strikes, though Iran's total internet blackout — in place since the war began February 28 — means these warnings cannot reach the civilian population they ostensibly target.
