ADAMA Neot Hovav hazmat all-clear — no public risk; roads reopened after missile fragment fire

·Beersheba industrial zone and central Israel

Environmental Protection Ministry: no risk to public from ADAMA Makhteshim plant fire. Minister Silman confirms on-site measurements found no hazardous materials incident. Roads reopened; ADAMA workers and adjacent plant staff allowed to leave shelters. ADAMA confirmed plant makes insecticides, herbicides, fungicides. The fire from the Iranian missile fragment was contained without toxic release.

An Iranian ballistic missile fragment (not a direct hit, per IDF Home Front Command) struck ADAMA's Makhteshim plant at the Neot Hovav industrial zone south of Beersheba, causing a large fire and a hazardous materials leak identified as a pesticide. ADAMA confirmed the strike — stating 'the factory was struck by either an Iranian missile or debris from a missile' — and reported no injuries. ADAMA, a maker of active ingredients and crop protection materials, is part of the Chinese-owned Syngenta Group (the world's largest agrochemical company by sales), making this the first strike on Chinese-corporate-owned infrastructure in Israel during the war. The IDF Home Front Command stated the Iranian BM did not directly hit the industrial zone: a fragment likely struck the facility, sparking the blaze. The warning was issued to those in the industrial zone only, not to nearby towns. Containment teams sealed damaged chemical storage units containing pesticide compounds; full evacuation of ADAMA plant and nearby facilities completed. No casualties reported.
