IDF overnight strikes hit Tehran MIO HQ (naval weapons), regime and air defense sites

·Tehran, Iran

The Israeli Air Force's overnight Tehran wave targeted the headquarters of Iran's Marine Industries Organization (MIO) — responsible for R&D and production of naval weaponry including surface/sub-surface vessels, manned/unmanned equipment, and engines. IDF also struck other sites used to develop weapons and air defense systems. Strike carried out following intelligence from the Naval Intelligence Division. IDF says the strike 'deepens damage to Iranian regime's naval capabilities, with particular impact on ability to produce advanced maritime weapons.'

The IDF released a statement in the early hours of 28 March 2026 (Day 29) announcing active strikes on 'targets of the Iranian terror regime throughout Tehran.' The statement provided no further operational details on the number of aircraft, munitions, or specific targets involved. The strikes continue a pattern established across Days 27 and 28 in which the IDF conducted multiple extensive strike waves against Iranian military, industrial, nuclear, and regime infrastructure in and around Tehran. Day 28 strikes included extensive overnight and dawn waves targeting command infrastructure and IRGC assets. Day 29 strikes are expected to expand targeting as intelligence from previous strikes is processed. No immediate Iranian response or damage assessment available.
