Iranian drones strike Kuwait's main Shuwaikh commercial port — material damage, no casualties

·Shuwaikh Port, Kuwait City, Kuwait

Kuwait's main commercial Shuwaikh Port was targeted by drones at dawn on Day 28, the Kuwait Port Authority said. 'Preliminary reports revealed material damage but no human casualties.' TOI and regional media attributed the attack to Iran as part of its campaign against Gulf states. Iran has struck UAE (10 dead, 372+ missiles), Bahrain, and now Kuwait's main port. Shuwaikh handles a large share of Kuwait's imports.

Kuwait's Port Authority announced on 27 March 2026 that Shuwaikh Port — Kuwait's main commercial port handling the majority of the country's imports — was 'targeted at dawn by enemy drones.' The authority said 'preliminary reports revealed material damage but no human casualties.' The attack was attributed to Iran by regional media and TOI as part of Iran's campaign against Gulf states retaliating for US-Israeli strikes. Kuwait earlier arrested six people linked to Hezbollah allegedly planning assassinations of state leaders. Iran has been striking UAE territory (10 dead, 372+ missiles since Feb 28), Bahrain's Muharraq Island, and Gulf shipping throughout the conflict. Striking Kuwait's main commercial port represents a significant escalation of Iran's Gulf campaign beyond maritime interdiction into port infrastructure.
