Iranian drones strike Kuwait's main Shuwaikh commercial port — material damage, no casualties
Kuwait's main commercial Shuwaikh Port was targeted by drones at dawn on Day 28, the Kuwait Port Authority said. 'Preliminary reports revealed material damage but no human casualties.' TOI and regional media attributed the attack to Iran as part of its campaign against Gulf states. Iran has struck UAE (10 dead, 372+ missiles), Bahrain, and now Kuwait's main port. Shuwaikh handles a large share of Kuwait's imports.
Actor responses
Iran has not officially claimed the Shuwaikh Port attack. Kuwait Port Authority confirmed 'enemy drones' struck the port at dawn causing material damage. Iran's armed forces spokesman Shekarchi has separately warned any facility hosting US forces is a legitimate target.
The US has not commented on the Shuwaikh port attack. The US Embassy Baghdad previously ordered Americans to evacuate Iraq due to PMF attacks. Kuwait is a key Gulf ally hosting US military personnel.
