Houthis: 'Fingers on trigger' for direct military intervention in Iran war — Saree
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree in a televised speech: 'We affirm that our fingers are on the trigger for direct military intervention.' Conditions: if new allies join the US-Israeli coalition OR if the Red Sea is used to launch attacks on Iran. The Houthis have not yet formally entered the war despite being an Iranian proxy (IRGC-funded, trained, equipped). Saree's conditional threat signals Houthi readiness to open a Red Sea/Gulf of Aden front.
Actor responses
Houthi spokesperson Saree: 'We affirm that our fingers are on the trigger for direct military intervention.' Conditions: if new allies join the coalition or Red Sea used to attack Iran. 'We are ready.'
The US has not responded to Saree's intervention threat. The US has previously conducted extensive strikes on Houthi military infrastructure in Yemen (2024-2025). Houthi entry would require CENTCOM to open a third front (in addition to Iran and Iraq/Gulf).
Israel has not responded to the Houthi intervention threat. During the Gaza conflict, the IDF conducted strikes on Hodeidah port in response to Houthi attacks. Houthi long-range ballistic missiles have previously reached the Tel Aviv area.
