Paramedic runs with minutes-old newborn to shelter as ballistic missile siren sounds in Tel Aviv

·Tel Aviv, Israel

Seconds after MDA paramedic Dr. Gal Rosen delivered a baby at a Tel Aviv home, an Iranian ballistic missile siren activated. Rosen, wearing a ballistic vest and helmet, ran with the minutes-old newborn to reach a shelter. The baby, parents Violet and Nikola, and the medical team sheltered together until the all-clear. 'Seeing a half-hour-old baby in a public shelter, surrounded by a family full of blessings and joy, is something you don't forget,' Rosen said.

MDA paramedic Dr. Gal Rosen was still at a Tel Aviv home following an emergency birth on the morning of 26 March 2026 when a ballistic missile siren activated. Rosen, wearing a ballistic vest and helmet, ran with the minutes-old newborn in his arms to reach the nearest shelter. The parents — Violet and Nikola — the EMT team, and the newborn sheltered together. Once safe, Rosen handed the baby to his father. 'In the very next moment, once it was safe, I handed him straight to his father. Seeing a half-hour-old baby in a public shelter, surrounded by a family full of blessings and joy, is something you don't forget,' Rosen said. The incident occurred during one of Iran's morning ballistic missile salvos against central Israel on Day 27.
