·Moscow, Russia / Tehran, Iran

Russia is close to completing a phased delivery of drones, medicine, and food to Iran according to western intelligence reported by the Financial Times. Senior Iranian and Russian officials began secretly discussing drone deliveries days after the US-Israel attack on Tehran on 28 February. The Kremlin denied the report, saying the media is 'printing a lot of lies' and that 'one thing is true — we are continuing our dialogue with the Iranian leadership.'

The Financial Times reported on March 25 that Russia is close to completing a phased delivery of drones, as well as medicine and food, to Iran, according to western intelligence officials. Two officials briefed on the intelligence said senior Iranian and Russian officials began secretly discussing delivering drones days after Israel and the US attacked Tehran on 28 February 2026. Moscow has close ties with Tehran and has provided its ally with crucial support including satellite imagery, targeting data and intelligence support. The drone shipments mark the first evidence that Moscow has been willing to provide lethal support to Iran since the start of the war. Processing of deliveries began early March and is expected to be completed by end of the month. The report could not be independently verified.
