A missile strike hit a residential building in Kamalshahr district of Karaj, Iran's third-largest city located in Alborz Province approximately 20 km west of Tehran. The strike occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, March 25 (Day 26). The deputy security governor of Alborz confirmed to Tasnim news agency that at least 18 people were injured and the four-storey residential building was destroyed. Additional damage was reported to two warehouses in Chaharbagh county and Golsar city within Alborz Province. The attacker was not officially identified by Iranian authorities, consistent with Iran's pattern of confirming strikes without attribution. The Karaj area is home to significant industrial and military-industrial infrastructure including the Karaj Agricultural and Medical Research Center and facilities associated with Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs — Karaj hosts the Hashtgerd technology park and has historically been linked to IRGC facilities. The residential building strike could reflect collateral damage from a strike on nearby military-industrial infrastructure, or deliberate pressure targeting.
