·Jerusalem, Israel

Two Israeli brothers from the Jerusalem area, arrested in January, were indicted today for spying for Iran. They received over NIS 100,000 ($32k) from Iranian operatives, used AI to create fake maps and military reports, and posed as an IDF Unit 8200 intelligence officer.

Israeli police announced on Day 25 that two Israeli brothers in their 20s from the Jerusalem area have been indicted for espionage. Arrested in January following a joint investigation by West Bank District police and the Shin Bet, they received over NIS 100,000 ($32,000) from Iranian operatives. They used AI to create fake maps and military reports, and posed as an IDF Unit 8200 officer. Charges include contact with a foreign agent, passing intelligence to the enemy, and impersonation. Police noted the information 'had the potential to be used by the hostile actor' even if not all of it was credible. The defense attorney claimed the brothers were 'Zionist patriots' attempting to sting Iranians.
