Iran fires 2nd cluster bomb warhead — bomblet craters playground in Kiryat Ono, central Israel

Iran fired a ballistic missile carrying a cluster bomb warhead at central Israel on Day 21, with multiple bomblets falling in the city of Kiryat Ono. Police and the IDF confirmed dispatching forces to impact sites. Home Front Command search and rescue soldiers were deployed to the sites. The Kiryat Ono strike is distinct in location (central Israel vs. southern-central Rehovot) and target (playground vs. homes), and produced no casualties. Iran's use of cluster bombs — internationally condemned munitions banned under the Convention on Cluster Munitions — marks a significant escalation in warhead types. The 9th missile salvo of Day 21 was detected by IDF en route to central Israel before these impacts were reported, suggesting this strike may be part of that wave.
