Hezbollah continued attacking towns in northern Israel with rockets and drones on Day 18, as IDF forces pushed deeper into southern Lebanon. The IDF announced the 36th Division had begun a new targeted ground operation toward an additional objective in south Lebanon, aimed at expanding the forward defense area established since Hezbollah began attacking Israel at the conflict's start. The IDF said it carried out massive airstrikes and artillery shelling before the 36th Division moved into position. Three IDF divisions are now deployed across southern Lebanon: the 36th opening a new northern expansion, the 91st Galilee Regional Division in the eastern sector, and the 146th defensively in the west. In Beirut, the IDF carried out pre-warned dawn airstrikes on three Dahiyeh locations - Hezbollah's stronghold in southern Beirut: the Kafaat area, Haret Hreik area, and a residential building on Venice Street in Doha Aramoun.
