IRGC fires Sejjil solid-fuel MRBM for first time — wave 54, targeting Israeli C2

Iran's IRGC confirmed firing the Sejjil solid-fuel MRBM for the first time in the conflict during wave 54 of Operation True Promise 4. Four Sejjil units targeted Israeli C2 infrastructure. The solid-fuel Sejjil is harder to intercept than liquid-fuel missiles and signals Iran is escalating its missile mix as conventional stockpiles are degraded.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed on March 15, 2026 (Day 16) that it fired the Sejjil solid-fuel strategic medium-range ballistic missile for the first time in the current conflict, during wave 54 of Operation True Promise 4. Four Sejjil units were launched targeting centers of management and decision-making that influence the Zionist regime's air-based operations — Israeli air force C2, command centres, and military infrastructure. The Sejjil is a two-stage solid-fuel ballistic missile with range approximately 2,000km, capable of reaching all of Israel from deep inside Iran. Unlike Iran's liquid-fuelled Shahab and Ghadr missiles, the Sejjil uses solid propellant — eliminating pre-launch fuelling, making it significantly harder to detect before launch. IRGC claimed the strikes were carried out successfully. Confirmed by Tasnim News Agency (Iranian state media) and WANA. The first use of the Sejjil represents a deliberate escalation: Iran introducing a harder-to-intercept missile type as Israeli air defenses are depleted and US/Israeli strikes target its conventional stockpiles.
