Iran launches missile barrage at central Israel — fragments and fires in Holon and Tel Aviv district

Iran fired a ballistic missile barrage toward central Israel early on March 15, 2026 (Day 16). The IDF identified the launches originating from Iran at approximately 01:10 UTC. Air raid sirens sounded across the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, Netanya, central Israel, and the West Bank. Israeli police reported that several missile and interceptor fragments fell in the Tel Aviv district, with firefighters managing multiple crash sites. Fires broke out in Holon from falling shrapnel. Home Front Command reported initial fire reports in several areas across Israel. Two people were lightly injured in Holon: an 80-year-old man from glass fragments and an 80-year-old woman from smoke inhalation, treated by Magen David Adom. The IDF stated that fired missiles were intercepted or fell in open areas, with no major casualties reported. Sirens also sounded in the northern Galilee (Misgav Am, Metula) indicating simultaneous Hezbollah rocket activity from Lebanon.
