UAE Intercepts 16 of 17 Iranian Ballistic Missiles and 113 of 117 UAVs in Single Day — 4 Dead

·United Arab Emirates / Abu Dhabi

UAE Ministry of Defence confirms: 17 ballistic missiles detected today, 16 destroyed, 1 fell in sea. 117 UAVs detected, 113 intercepted, 4 fell within UAE territory. 4 deaths among Pakistani, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationals; 112 injured. Gulf ceasefire is not holding. Fresh blasts also heard in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE Ministry of Defence released detailed interception figures for Day 9, confirming the largest single-day Iranian missile and drone barrage against the UAE. Of 17 Iranian ballistic missiles detected, 16 were destroyed by UAE air defences and one fell into the sea. Of 117 UAVs detected, 113 were intercepted and 4 fell within UAE territory. The attacks resulted in 4 deaths — all among expatriate workers, specifically Pakistani, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationals — and 112 people sustained moderate to minor injuries. Fresh blasts were also heard in Abu Dhabi by witnesses, corroborating the ongoing attacks. The scale of the UAE interception figures is remarkable: the country's Patriot and THAAD systems engaged a combined 134 threats in a single day. The figures conclusively show the Gulf ceasefire announced by Pezeshkian on Day 8 is not being observed by Iranian forces — either due to IRGC non-compliance with leadership council orders or deliberate exclusion of UAE from ceasefire terms. The UAE is not a NATO member and has historically maintained diplomatic relations with Iran. The sustained attacks — 4 dead, 112 injured, now on Day 9 — represent a major humanitarian and political crisis for the Gulf state.
