Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X that ongoing mediation efforts from third-party countries should be directed at those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict, a clear reference to the United States and Israel. Pezeshkian wrote: Some countries have begun mediation efforts. Let us be clear: we are committed to lasting peace in the region yet we have no hesitation in defending our nation dignity and sovereignty. Mediation should address those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict. The statement comes as several countries including Qatar, Oman, and Turkey have contacted both sides. Iran has not signalled any willingness to ceasefire.
