Gulf civilian damage escalates: 4 killed in UAE, tanker hit in Hormuz, Oman's Duqm port struck

·UAE / Strait of Hormuz / Oman

Iranian retaliatory strikes continued hitting civilian and commercial targets across the Gulf on Day 2. The UAE Ministry of Defence said 137 missiles and 209 drones were fired at the UAE on Day 1 alone. At Abu Dhabi airport, at least 1 killed and 7 wounded. Three killed in the UAE total — Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals. A Palau-flagged oil tanker (Skylight) burst into flames after being hit near the Strait of Hormuz; 20 crew (15 Indian, 5 Iranian) were evacuated. Oman's Duqm commercial port was struck by two drones — the first attack on Oman, the conflict mediator. The Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the Oman strike.

Burj Al Arab hit by intercepted drone debris — "minor fire" on outer facade. • Jebel Ali port: Dark smoke rising over one of the busiest ports in the Middle East. • Abu Dhabi: Etihad Towers complex hit by drone debris; woman and child injured. • AWS data center in UAE: "impacted by objects" — sparks and fire, power shut off. Oil tanker — Strait of Hormuz: • Palau-flagged tanker "Skylight" struck near Musandam's Khasab Port, 5 nautical miles from shore. • Tanker burst into flames. 20-person crew (15 Indian nationals, 5 Iranian nationals) evacuated safely. • The tanker was reportedly under US sanctions. • Iranian state TV claimed a separate tanker was "sinking" after being struck transiting the Strait. Oman: • Oman News Agency: Duqm commercial port (Al Wusta Governorate) struck by two drones. • One expatriate worker injured. • This was the first attack on Oman — which had been mediating US-Iran negotiations before the strikes. • GCC condemned the attack. Qatar's MFA spokesperson: "This is an attack on the very principle of mediation." Explosions continued on Day 2 in Dubai, Doha, and Manama. Witnesses in Doha reported loud bangs and thick black smoke rising on the horizon.
