IDF strikes Hezbollah headquarters and Amana Fuel Company gas stations in Beirut — over 15 Amana stations hit since start of Lebanon campaign

·Beirut, Lebanon

The IDF struck Hezbollah headquarters and two Amana Fuel Company-owned gas stations in Beirut on April 5. Amana Fuel Company is owned by Hezbollah, operates a network of gas stations in Lebanon, and manages Hezbollah's fuel supplies. The US sanctioned Amana Fuel in February 2020 for supporting Hezbollah. The IDF has now struck over 15 Amana Fuel Company-owned gas stations since the start of Israel's Lebanon campaign on March 2. The strikes are part of a broader effort to degrade Hezbollah's logistics and command infrastructure.

The IDF conducted strikes in Beirut on April 5 targeting: 1. Hezbollah headquarters: A command and control facility in the Lebanese capital. 2. Two Amana Fuel Company-owned gas stations: Part of Hezbollah's fuel supply network. Amana Fuel is owned by Hezbollah and manages the group's fuel logistics across Lebanon. The US sanctioned the company in February 2020. The IDF has now struck over 15 Amana Fuel Company-owned gas stations since the start of Israel's Lebanon campaign on March 2. The systematic targeting of Hezbollah's fuel infrastructure is designed to degrade the group's ability to sustain its rocket and drone launch operations. Multiple IDF divisions continue ground operations across southern Lebanon: - 91st Territorial Division (including 8th Armored Brigade Res.): Expanding focused ground operations, engaged and killed several Hezbollah fighters, located weapons caches including ATGMs and RPGs. - 1st Golani Infantry Brigade (36th Armored Division): Expanding security zone, located surface-to-surface rockets, launchers, explosive charges, ATGMs, and military vests. - 146th Reserve Division (including 226th Paratrooper Brigade): Killed over 90 Hezbollah fighters since March 2. IDF officials have reaffirmed that the IDF will continue holding territory in southern Lebanon until the direct threat of Hezbollah is removed, and reiterated that disarming Hezbollah remains an ongoing goal. Notably, Israeli media reported on April 4 that the IDF acknowledged it overestimated the level to which Israel degraded Hezbollah during the fall 2024 conflict and is compiling an updated capability estimate.
