UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Ardiel confirmed that a blast hit one of the force's positions in southern Lebanon, wounding three peacekeepers — two of them seriously. All three were being evacuated to hospital. 'We do not yet know the origin of the explosion,' Ardiel said. The incident is the third in a single week targeting UNIFIL positions in the area where Israel and Hezbollah are actively fighting. An Indonesian peacekeeper was killed on Sunday, and two more were killed the following day near the Israeli border. Israel has previously blamed Hezbollah for peacekeeper deaths in the region.
