WHO: paramedic killed in Bint Jbeil ambulance strike; 51 Lebanese health workers killed since war began

·Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon

WHO Director-General Tedros reports a paramedic was killed in a strike on an ambulance in Bint Jbeil, and a medical warehouse in the city was destroyed. Cumulative toll: 51 Lebanese health workers killed since March 2, including 9 paramedics on Saturday alone. IDF spokesman Adraee issued a specific warning: Hezbollah must stop using ambulances and medical facilities for military purposes, or Israel will act against them in accordance with international law.

World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that another health worker was killed in southern Lebanon due to Israel's expanding military operations: a paramedic was killed in a strike on an ambulance in Bint Jbeil, and a medical warehouse in the same city was destroyed. Before this latest casualty, WHO had verified 51 Lebanese health workers killed since March 2, including nine paramedics on Saturday. The cumulative toll of health workers killed in five weeks reflects the intensity of the conflict in southern Lebanon. The IDF has repeatedly accused Hezbollah of using ambulances and medical facilities for military purposes — concealing fighters, weapons, and command functions within protected infrastructure. IDF spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee reiterated this warning on D30: 'We reiterate our warning that the military use of medical facilities and ambulances must cease immediately, and clarify that if it does not stop, Israel will act in accordance with international law against any military activity of the Hezbollah terror organization.' Bint Jbeil is a key Hezbollah stronghold in south Lebanon approximately 5km north of the Israeli border and has been the site of IDF-Hezbollah fighting since the Lebanon operations escalated on March 2.
