·Adchit al-Qusayr, south Lebanon
A UNIFIL peacekeeper was killed and another critically injured when a projectile exploded at one of the mission's positions near the southern Lebanese village of Adchit al-Qusayr on March 28. UNIFIL announced on March 29 that one peacekeeper had been killed and another critically injured when a projectile exploded at a UNIFIL position near Adchit al-Qusayr in southern Lebanon on March 28. The statement said: 'We do not know the origin of the projectile. We have launched an investigation to determine all of the circumstances.' Adchit al-Qusayr is located in the Marjayoun/Nabatieh district of south Lebanon, near the area where the IDF has been conducting operations against Hezbollah. The IDF's 146th Division was documented at Ras al-Bayada on March 29, and Hezbollah has been firing rockets from southern Lebanese positions. The origin of the projectile — whether IDF ordnance, Hezbollah fire, or crossfire — was not confirmed. The death marks the first confirmed UNIFIL fatality during the Iran-Israel war, raising international pressure on all parties regarding UN peacekeeper safety.
