IDF kills Hezbollah Radwan Force intelligence operative Ali Shoeib and journalist Fatima Ftouni in Jezzine

The IDF formally confirmed killing Ali Shoeib in an airstrike in Jezzine, south Lebanon, stating he was a member of the Radwan Force's intelligence unit who operated under the cover of being a journalist for Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV. The IDF stated: 'Shoeib served as a terrorist in the Hezbollah terror organization under the guise of a journalist for the Al-Manar network, while consistently working to expose the locations of IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon and along the border, and maintained continuous contact with other terrorists in the Radwan Force unit.' The IDF added that during the current war with Iran, Shoeib 'continued his activities and reported on the locations of IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon.' He also 'engaged in incitement against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, using his position as a channel to disseminate Hezbollah propaganda materials.' The IAF confirmed the strike via its official account. The same strike killed Fatima Ftouni, a reporter for Al-Mayadeen. The Radwan Force is Hezbollah's most elite commando unit, previously trained for a mass invasion of northern Israel. Shoeib's dual role as Radwan Force intelligence operative and journalist makes him a legitimate military target under IDF rules of engagement, though his killing raises press freedom concerns internationally.
