IDF kills senior Hezbollah anti-tank commander Hassan Bashir in Hajir — led hundreds of ATGM attacks

·Hajir area, southern Lebanon

An Israeli Air Force strike in the Hajir area of Lebanon killed Hassan Mohammad Bashir, a senior Hezbollah commander in its anti-tank missile unit. The IDF said Bashir commanded and advanced hundreds of ATGM attacks against Israeli troops and civilians over two years. Recently he began working with Hezbollah's anti-tank forces north of the Litani River, training additional operatives. The killing directly degrades Hezbollah's ATGM capability, which has been one of its most lethal tools in Lebanon.

The IDF announced on 26 March 2026 that Hassan Mohammad Bashir, a senior Hezbollah commander in the anti-tank missile unit, was killed overnight in an IAF strike in the Hajir area of Lebanon. According to the IDF, Bashir had commanded and advanced hundreds of ATGM attacks against Israeli troops and civilians over the past two years. In recent months, Bashir had shifted to working with Hezbollah's anti-tank forces operating north of the Litani River and had been involved in training many operatives. His killing directly strikes Hezbollah's ATGM program at a time when the group has been deploying ATGMs against Merkava tanks and IDF positions in southern Lebanon. The Hajir area is in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon.
