Kiryat Shmona, a northern Israeli city of approximately 25,000 people, has been repeatedly struck by Hezbollah rocket and missile fire since the Lebanon front opened on March 2 (Day 4), when Hezbollah began firing in solidarity with Iran. The IDF has been conducting sustained airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut in response.
Lebanon's President Aoun met France FM Barrot on Day 20 to push the ceasefire initiative, but Hezbollah has not accepted the proposed disarmament conditions. France FM Barrot is scheduled to visit Israel on Day 21 to push de-escalation.
