IDF expands south Lebanon evacuation order to Zahrani River — dozens more towns told to flee

The Israeli military expanded its evacuation warning for southern Lebanon on Thursday March 12, ordering all civilians south of the Zahrani River to evacuate their homes immediately. This significantly extends the previous order issued last week that covered only areas south of the Litani River. The Zahrani River is located well north of the Litani, meaning dozens more Lebanese towns are now included in the evacuation zone. IDF spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee said: 'The activity of the Hezbollah terror organization is forcing the IDF to act against it with force, especially in your areas. The IDF does not intend to harm you. For your safety, we call on all residents located south of the Zahrani River, you must evacuate your homes immediately. You must move immediately to the north of the Zahrani River.' He warned that 'any building used by Hezbollah for military purposes may become a target' and 'any movement southward may put your life at risk.' This expansion follows Defense Minister Katz's earlier statement instructing the IDF to prepare for expanded operations in Lebanon.
