Israel Defense Minister Katz: campaign will continue 'without any time limit'

·Jerusalem, Israel

Defense Minister Katz: 'The operation will continue without any time limit, as long as required, until we accomplish all objectives.' Cites goal of allowing Iranian people to overthrow regime. WSJ reports Israel concerned Trump may end war before Israeli goals met.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that there is no time limit to the US-Israeli operation against Iran. 'The operation will continue without any time limit, as long as required, until we accomplish all objectives and achieve victory in the campaign,' Katz said during a situational assessment with IDF Chief of Staff Zamir and members of the General Staff. Katz reiterated the Israeli message that one objective of IDF strikes is 'to allow the Iranian people to rise, act, and overthrow this regime.' He described US and Israeli operations as 'impressive and systematic targeting of the regime personnel themselves, the IRGC, and the Basij.' The Wall Street Journal reported there is 'a measure of concern in Israel that US President Donald Trump could decide to end the war earlier than Jerusalem would like, leaving Israel's key goals unaccomplished.' The US-Israel tension over war duration is one of the most significant emerging fault lines of the conflict: Trump is signaling imminent end ('any time I want it to end, it will end') while Israel's defense establishment is asserting unlimited campaign duration. This divergence, if it sharpens, could become a defining diplomatic crisis within the coalition.
