Saudi Arabia intercepts 7 Iranian ballistic missiles — 6 targeting Prince Sultan Air Base

·Prince Sultan Air Base / Eastern Saudi Arabia

Saudi defense ministry: 6 ballistic missiles launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base intercepted and destroyed. 1 additional missile launched toward the eastern region also intercepted. Largest single Iranian ballistic strike on Saudi Arabia in the war. Prince Sultan Air Base hosts US Air Force assets including F-15s and is a key hub for the US-led coalition.

Saudi Arabia's defense ministry confirmed it intercepted seven Iranian ballistic missiles in separate attacks on Day 12. Six missiles were launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base — a critical US and Saudi Air Force installation located approximately 115km southeast of Riyadh — and were 'intercepted and destroyed.' A seventh ballistic missile launched toward the eastern region of Saudi Arabia (home to the kingdom's oil infrastructure) was also intercepted. The seven-missile salvo against Saudi Arabia is the largest single Iranian ballistic attack on the kingdom in the war. Prince Sultan Air Base (Al Kharj Air Base) is one of the most strategically significant bases in the region: it hosts US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle squadrons, B-1B Lancers, tanker aircraft supporting the Iran air campaign, and is a key node in the US-led coalition's strike package coordination. Iran targeting it directly — with 6 missiles simultaneously — signals a deliberate attempt to disrupt the air campaign's logistics and command infrastructure. All missiles were intercepted, but the attempt itself represents a significant escalation of Iran's Saudi targeting. Combined with the 1 missile targeting the oil-rich eastern region, Iran appears to be simultaneously probing Saudi air defenses and threatening the kingdom's economic infrastructure.
