White House: US moving to dismantle Iran's missile infrastructure — B2 bombers dropped dozens of 2,000lb penetrators on buried sites

Leavitt: after destroying 50+ Iranian naval vessels ('combat ineffective'), US is now targeting missile infrastructure. B2 bunker-buster bombers dropped dozens of 2,000lb penetrator bombs on deeply buried missile sites. War aims: destroy missile program, ensure no nuclear weapon, neutralize proxies, destroy navy.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that after destroying over 50 Iranian naval vessels and declaring the Islamic Republic's navy 'combat ineffective,' the US is now moving to dismantle Iran's missile infrastructure. Leavitt confirmed that US B2 Spirit stealth bombers recently dropped dozens of 2,000-pound penetrator explosives on deeply buried Iranian missile sites. The GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) — the world's largest non-nuclear bunker buster at 30,000 lbs — and smaller 2,000lb BLU-109 penetrators are designed specifically to destroy deeply buried and hardened underground facilities such as Iran's missile production and storage sites. Leavitt stated the war's objectives as: (1) destroying Iran's missile program; (2) ensuring Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon; (3) ensuring Tehran's proxies can no longer destabilize the region; (4) destruction of Iran's navy. Leavitt also clarified the Hormuz escort claim: 'This has not yet happened, contrary to what Energy Secretary Chris Wright asserted in a since-deleted X post.' She said the US offered political risk insurance to tankers in the Gulf, waived certain oil sanctions, and 'has offered US Navy escort to tankers when necessary' — but has not yet executed such an escort. Additional Hormuz options are being drawn up.
