IDF kills Hezbollah Radwan Force commanders in south Lebanon — weapons depot destroyed in overnight raid
·Rab al-Thalathine / Ansar, South Lebanon
7th Armored Brigade tank fire kills Radwan Force commanders gathered in a building in Rab al-Thalathine. Weapons depot destroyed in same operation. 769th Brigade airstrike kills Hezbollah cell in separate incident. IDF strikes Hezbollah command centers in Ansar. Ground operations deepening in south Lebanon.
The IDF detailed a series of overnight ground and air operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. In the Rab al-Thalathine area — where the 7th Armored Brigade, under the 36th Division, began a raid the previous day — troops detected a group of Radwan Force operatives entering a building near IDF forces. A tank opened fire, killing the Radwan commanders. A nearby weapons depot was also struck and destroyed in the same operation. The Radwan Force is Hezbollah's elite rapid-deployment unit and was responsible for the October 7 ground incursion planning. Its commanders represent high-value targets for the IDF. In a separate overnight operation, troops of the 769th 'Hiram' Regional Brigade identified a Hezbollah cell and directed an airstrike. Troops of the 91st 'Galilee' Regional Division also struck a group of 'suspects who posed a threat' to IDF ground forces. Additionally, the IDF struck Hezbollah command centers and infrastructure in the southern Lebanon town of Ansar, from which the terror group had launched rockets at Israel. The IDF warned residents of Ansar before the strikes. IDF Ground forces are now operating deeper into southern Lebanon than at any point in the current campaign, aiming to establish a forward defense zone north of the border.
