IDF destroys 70+ primed Hezbollah rocket launchers — Hezbollah now firing from deeper inside Lebanon

·Southern Lebanon

IDF: since hostilities resumed, IAF has destroyed more than 70 primed Hezbollah rocket launchers — including several struck mid-attempt while being armed. Hezbollah operatives manning launchers also killed. Key intelligence: Hezbollah now launching from deeper within southern Lebanon — not from the border — complicating IDF ground operations.

The IDF reported that since hostilities resumed on the Lebanon front, the Israeli Air Force has struck and destroyed more than 70 primed Hezbollah rocket launchers. Several of the strikes occurred in real time while Hezbollah operatives were actively attempting to fire — the launchers were identified and destroyed before or during the launch attempt. IDF footage released shows launchers being struck and Hezbollah operatives operating them also killed. The IDF also struck 'several Hezbollah operatives who operated one of the launchers, as well as an operative who had been heading to a launch site.' A significant intelligence update accompanied the announcement: Hezbollah is now launching most of its attacks from deeper within southern Lebanon, not from positions close to the border as in earlier engagements. This tactical adaptation — moving launch sites further from the border — complicates both IDF counter-battery operations (longer detection-to-strike window) and ground operations (forces must push deeper to neutralize launcher positions). It also explains why the IDF's south Lebanon ground operations are described as 'deepening' — to reach Hezbollah's increasingly distant launch infrastructure.
