Zelensky: 11 countries have asked Ukraine for help countering Iranian drones
·Kyiv, Ukraine
Ukrainian President Zelensky says 11 countries — neighboring Iran, European states, and the US — have requested Kyiv's expertise in countering Iranian drones. 'There is clear interest in Ukraine's experience in protecting lives, relevant interceptors, electronic warfare systems and training.'
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that 11 countries have formally requested Ukraine's assistance in countering Iranian drones being launched across the Middle East. The countries include states neighboring Iran, European nations, and the United States. 'As of now, there are 11 requests from countries neighboring Iran, European states and the US. There is clear interest in Ukraine's experience in protecting lives, relevant interceptors, electronic warfare systems and training,' Zelensky said. Ukraine has spent years fending off nightly barrages of Iran-made Shahed attack drones launched by Russia and has developed world-class expertise in drone detection, electronic warfare jamming, and low-cost intercept systems. The announcement signals a new dimension of the Iran-Russia-China axis narrative: the war in the Middle East is accelerating technology transfer in reverse — with Ukraine's experience fighting Iranian weapons now being sought by Gulf states, European allies, and the United States. This also further damages Russia-Iran relations if Moscow's allies are sharing Iranian weapons-defeat technology.
