IDF kills Hezbollah Nasr Unit commander Abu Hussein Ra'ab — 1 million Lebanese evacuated

·South Lebanon

Defense Minister Katz: IDF killed Abu Hussein Ra'ab, commander of Hezbollah's Nasr regional division (Mount Dov to Bint Jbeil). Separately: over 1 million Lebanese civilians have followed IDF evacuation warnings — 650K from Beirut south, 500K from south Lebanon.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the IDF had killed Abu Hussein Ra'ab, the commander of Hezbollah's Nasr Unit, in an IDF airstrike overnight. The Nasr Unit is one of three Hezbollah regional divisions in southern Lebanon, responsible for the area between Mount Dov and the Bint Jbeil area. It is one of Hezbollah's most active southern divisions. Katz was briefed at IDF Northern Command, where he was also updated that over one million Lebanese civilians have adhered to Israeli evacuation warnings: 650,000 Lebanese have evacuated Beirut's southern suburbs (Dahiyeh — a known Hezbollah stronghold), and another 500,000 have left southern Lebanon. 'Not only will we not withdraw in the face of Hezbollah, but we will take advantage of the opportunity to strike it and exact a price from it. We have an opportunity to bring very, very great security,' Katz said. The killing of a Nasr Unit divisional commander follows the earlier elimination of 5 IRGC commanders in the Beirut hotel strike on Day 9. Israel is systematically decapitating Hezbollah's command structure at the regional division level.
