IDF Home Front: nationwide restrictions stay until Saturday — school reopen postponed to Sunday

·Israel

IDF Home Front Command confirms restrictions unchanged: no schools, gatherings limited to 50 with shelter access, workplaces operate under wartime rules. Education Minister Kisch postpones partial reopen plan to Sunday following Home Front assessment.

The IDF Home Front Command announced that all nationwide wartime restrictions remain in force until Saturday at 8 p.m., when a new security assessment will be conducted. Current guidelines: educational activities prohibited (with limited exceptions); gatherings of up to 50 people permitted if a shelter can be reached in time; workplaces can operate under the same shelter-access conditions. Following the Home Front Command's assessment, Education Minister Yoav Kisch announced that his plan to allow a gradual reopening of the education system later this week is postponed to Sunday. This overrides Jerusalem Mayor Lion's earlier announcement of a partial Wednesday reopening. Israel's children have been out of school since February 28 — the first day of the war. The 10-day school closure represents the longest wartime closure since the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
