IDF Orders All Residents South of Litani River to Evacuate Immediately

IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a renewed and expanded evacuation order for all civilians south of the Litani river in southern Lebanon on Day 8, stating that strikes are ongoing as the IDF is operating with great force in the region. The order reads: For your safety, we reiterate our call for you to evacuate your homes immediately and move to the north of the Litani river. Anyone who is near Hezbollah operatives, installations, or weapons is putting their life at risk. The Litani river runs roughly parallel to the southern Lebanese border at a distance of approximately 20-30km. The evacuation order for all territory south of the Litani effectively encompasses all of southern Lebanon and would, if implemented, require the displacement of several hundred thousand civilians — most of whom have already been displaced by the war. The order comes as the IDF deepens ground operations in the Bekaa valley and signals an imminent major ground or air offensive into the full southern Lebanon zone.
