IRGC fires 230 drones at US bases in Kuwait, Iraq, and Gulf states

·Kuwait, Iraq, Gulf region

The IRGC launched 230 drones at US military facilities including Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, a base in Erbil (Iraq), and additional Gulf targets. IRGC called these attacks 'first powerful steps' in the war.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said it fired 230 drones at several facilities hosting US troops across the Middle East. Named targets included Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, and a base in Erbil in northern Iraq. The IRGC characterised these as 'first powerful steps' despite having attacked Gulf states for days since the conflict began. Kuwait's Ministry of Health confirmed an 11-year-old girl was killed by falling shrapnel — 'resuscitation was performed in the ambulance but she passed away due to her injuries.' In Iraq, a drone targeted a logistical support facility of the US embassy near Baghdad International Airport. Two drones also targeted a US military base and hotel in Erbil. Saudi Arabia intercepted a drone in the Eastern Province and Ras Tanura refinery was hit again by a projectile.

Ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have entered battlefield operations. Naval operations continue targeting enemy military ships in the Persian Gulf.

PHAROS NOTEIRGC ground forces 'entering battlefield operations' is ambiguous — could mean border defence positioning or proxy activation. Naval claims should be treated cautiously given CENTCOM's assertion of total Iranian naval destruction.

Iran's 230-drone salvo at Gulf bases is a significant expenditure of one-way attack UAV stockpile. At this rate of consumption Iran's drone inventory could be depleted within 2-3 weeks. The question is whether production can keep up.

PHAROS NOTEAttrition analysis is critical. If Iran's drone stockpile is finite and production lines are being struck, the 'first powerful steps' rhetoric masks a depleting capability.
